Obituary Condolences

NORTH BENNINGTON -- Graveside committal services for Mr. Harry Edward Fruitrich were held at the family lot in Grandview Cemetery in Shaftsbury on Thursday morning, with the Rev. Penny Rich Smith, pastor of the North Bennington Congregational Church, officiating.

Words of remembrance were shared by his son, Christopher Fruitrich, who spoke of his father’s failures, accomplishments, his great success, sense of humor and adventurous spirit. The American flag draping the casket of the World War II Army Air Corps veteran was folded by members of the Stratton Base Air Guard of Schenectady, N.Y. under the direction of Master Sgt. Kerry Booth, who then presented it to Christopher Fruitrich. The taps were sounded by bugler Staff Sgt. Allen Moon.

Mr. Fruitrich, formerly of Shaftsbury, died Feb. 25, 2005 in Sugarloaf, Pa. following a long illness.

Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
