Harry H. Stuart II

1918-2010 Harry Harlan Stuart II, of Orlando, Fla., passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010.

Born May 24, 1918, in Seattle, Wash., he moved from Greenwich, Conn., to Orlando in the early 80s. He was a graduate of the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, Calif., and also of Haverford College in Haverford, Pa., where he was a member of the Beta Rho Sigma Society.

He was a Lt. Commander in the Navy during World War II, based on Midway Island. He went on to become a Captain with American Airlines and retired in 1978.

Captain Stuart was a generous-spirited family man, a strong Christian, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Harrington Stuart; his children, Harry Harlan Stuart III of Shaftsbury, Vt., Kathryn Stuart Wilton of Gretna, Va., and Sarah Elizabeth Stuart of Vashon Island, Wash.; and grandchildren, John Maxwell Stuart, Noelle Emelienne Wilton, Jesse Vance Hazzard, and Isaiah Graham Hazzard.

MEMORIAL NOTICE: The Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Orlando in the Henry Chapel at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 140 N. Orlando Ave., Suite 260, Winter Park, FL 32789, or to the First Orlando Foundation, 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805.
