Harry "Bud" Simonds, Sr. 1933 - 2012 MANCHESTER CENTER, VT Harry "Bud" S. Simonds, Sr., a resident of North Road in Manchester Center, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Harry was born in Springfield, Vt., on February 27, 1933, son of Henry and Florence (Shattuck) Simonds. He attended Weston, Vt., schools and graduated from Chester High School. Harry enlisted in the and served his country during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, Harry worked as a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Adoniram Lodge in Manchester and a member of the Vermont Army National Guard from 1953-1993. Harry is survived by his sons, Harry "Tim" S. Simonds, Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Manchester Center and Bruce Hunt, Jr. of El Paso, Texas; his daughter, Janice Neil, of Whitehall, N.Y., his grandchildren Connor and Ethan Simonds, Mark and Adrian Hunt and Jonathon Neil and Betsy Molgano, a sister Winifred Thoren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Betsy Trombley, whom he married April 4, 1975, in Simondsville, Vt., and a brother, William Simonds. Mrs. Simonds passed away July 31, 1996. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside funeral services for Harry with military honors will be held Friday, June 8, at 11 a.m. in Andover Cemetery. A time for rememberance and refreshments will follow services at the VFW in Manchester, VT. There are no visiting hours.
