Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Harry Wahlberg, 82, of Manchester, passed away Nov. 30, 2007, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on June 3, 1925. He married the former Doris Jacobson on June 11, 1950, in Wyantanch, N.Y.

Harry served in the United States Navy during WWII where he participated in the Atlantic Theatre of Operations. He was an electrician and worked for several contractors on Long Island, N.Y. He moved to the Northshire area of Vermont, a place he had always adored, upon his retirement. He was a skilled woodworking craftsman and loved building and restoring things. He enjoyed golf and wintering at their home in Orlando, Fla. He was a member of the Masons while living on Long Island.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris, of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, John and Albert Wahlberg.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at 4 p.m. at the Brewster Funeral Home, 34 Park Place, Manchester. Burial will be Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, N.Y. Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m., when the family will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Harry’s memory be made to the Memorial Fund at Prince of peace Lutheran Church 15 111th St Troy, NY 12182.
