Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel A. Mattison were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, from the White Chapel Church on Chapel Road with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the First United Methodist Churches in Bennington and Shaftsbury officiating.

Musical selections during the funeral service were “Amazing Grace,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” “I Can Only Imagine,” “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” “When I Get to Where I’m Going” and Mrs. Mattison’s favorite song, “Pretty Paper.”

Bearers were eight grandsons, Steven, Dick, Bud and Andy Mattison, Cliff, Craig and Kevin Becker and Zak Giroux.

Burial took place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Estey offering the committal prayers.

Following the service a reception was held at the home of Mrs. Mattison’s son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Patricia Mattison on Daniels Road, in Shaftsbury.

Mrs. Mattison, widow of Gilbert H. Mattison Sr., a resident of Chapel Road, died Nov. 29, 2007, at Bennington Health and Rehab.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
