Obituary Condolences

BRONX, N.Y. -- Hazel C. Yates Harps, 91, formerly of Petersburgh and Hoosick, died on Monday evening at the Concourse Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in the Bronx, where she had been a resident for the last four months.

Born in the Bronx on July 1, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Pascal S. and Elsie Brown Yates. She attended P.S. No. 47 in the Bronx and graduated in 1932 from Textile High in Manhattan. She worked for the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene for over 27 years.

In 1976, she moved to Petersburgh with her late sister, Gladys, and dear friend, the late Chris Murphy. They were communicants of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. She then moved to Route 7 in Hoosick in 1996 and to Central Islip, Long Island, in 2001.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Gladys Yates, brothers Pascal Yates Jr., Samuel Yates, Albert Yates and Norman Yates, and her dear friend Christopher B. Murphy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:30 in the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home, 72 Main St., Hoosick Falls, with the Rev. Michael DeMasi, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home for visitation starting at 10 a.m.
