POWNAL -- Hazel Emily (Pray) Rondot, 92, of Route 346, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at the Williamstown Commons in Massachusetts.

She was born in Chesterfield, N.Y., on May 6, 1913, a daughter of the late Albert and Louise (Hull) Pray. She attended schools in Keeseville, N.Y.

She was employed for a short time at the General Cable Co. and Cornich Wire Co. in Williamstown, Mass. She also was employed in domestic work with families in New York and in Williamstown.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Williamstown and a longtime member of the Williamstown Grange 366. She was a long-time and active member of the First United Methodist Church of Pownal.

Her husband, Francis George Rondot, whom she married July 7, 1946, is deceased.

Survivors include one brother, John Pray of Keeseville; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; four stepdaughters, Barbara Fantone of Hartford, Conn. and Ocala, Fla.; Rose Almond of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; Margaret “Bunny” Palmer of Williamstown; and Joan Greer of Burleson, Texas.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Walter Pray.

A memorial service for Hazel Emily (Pray) Rondot will take place at a later date at the First United Methodist Church of Pownal. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the Village Ambulance or the First United Methodist Church of Pownal, through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass., which is in charge of arrangements.
