Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Mrs. Hazel G. Hart, 83, a resident of Fillmore Pond and a longtime resident of Pageant Street died Friday Jan. 2, 2004 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation following a brief illness.

She was born in Bennington, Aug. 5, 1920. Hazel was the daughter of the late Adelbert and Sarah (Elwell) Greene. She received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School.

On June 1, 1940, Hazel married Donald Hart at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Mr. Hart died April 23, 1983.

For several years Hazel was employed at Atkins Jewelers in Bennington and had also worked at several area restaurants and was a volunteer Grey Lady at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Mrs. Hart’s family and friends were her main interest. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends at Fillmore Pond.

Survivors include a son, Peter T. Hart of Harwington, Conn.; a daughter, Kathleen J. Keith of Pittsford; a sister, Helen Randall of Bennington; an aunt, Monie Iskowitz of Bennington; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Donald and a son, David M. Hart in 2000.

The funeral will be held at the Second Congregational Church on Saturday Jan. 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mary Lee Clark, pastor, officiating.

There will be no calling hours at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.

The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
