Obituary Condolences

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Miss Hazel M. DeCoursey, 86, a resident of Wagner Avenue, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003 at Bennington Health and Rehab following a brief illness.

Born in Schenectady, June 3, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Lucille M. (Coughlin) DeCoursey. She received her education in the Schenectady schools and was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She later attended secretarial school in Albany.

In earlier years Miss DeCoursey was employed in Binghamton by the United States Air Force, Air Material Command. She later worked for the United States Department of Defense, Defense Contract Administration Services in both Utica and Johnson City.

Miss DeCoursey was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady. She enjoyed both reading and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two nephews, Michael G. McGarrahan and his wife Jo-Ann of Bennington and Gerald P. McGarrahan and his wife Rosanna of Millersville, Md.; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews and cousins. Miss DeCoursey was predeceased by a sister, Virginia McGarrahan.

The funeral will be held from St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Schenectady on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. where the liturgy of Christian death and burial will be offered.

There will be no calling hours.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
