WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Hazel Margaret (MacRae) Foster, 84, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Williamstown, died on Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt., after a short illness.

She was married to David W. Foster of Newton Center for 49 years. He died in 1992.

She is survived by her only daughter, Carole Foster Middleton of Vero Beach and North Petersburgh, N.Y.; a surviving brother, Augustus E. McRae; a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Mrs. William F. McRae); a son-in-law, Finley Middleton; four grandchildren, Edith Middleton-Morales, Robert, Joseph and Catherine; and two great grandchildren, Anastasia and Aurora Morales.

Mrs. Foster was born in East Braintree on May 1, 1921. She was a graduate of Braintree High School and Bentley Accounting and had a 20-year career in the accounting field, heading up finance departments for companies such as Bethlehem Steel and Bayless Supermarket Chain in Phoenix. Her husband was finance manager for Goodyear International for 45 years.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. in the All Saints Episcopal Church in Hoosick, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited.

A liturgy of Christian death and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, in St. Brigid’s Church in Abington, celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Boudreau. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Rockland.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hall & Higgins Funeral Home of Stephentown, N.Y.
