BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Hazel Olin Potter were held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 with the Rev. George Eberly, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Bennington, officiating.

During the funeral service the hymn “Amazing Grace”’ was offered in Mrs. Potter’s memory. Words of remembrance were offered by two granddaughters, Brenda Philips and Eileen Murray.

Bearers were five grandsons, James Potter, Tim Herman, Chris Cassano, Bruce Mattison, Billy Potter and Peter Pacitto III, a nephew.

Tuesday evening members of the Women of the Moose conducted their services at the funeral home.

Burial took place in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury with the Rev. Eberly offering the committal prayers.

Mrs. Potter, widow of Lyman Potter Sr., a resident of South Stream Road, Bennington, died Jan. 10, 2004 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

A reception was held at the Loyal Order of Moose following the funeral services. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
