Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Hazel P. Tobin, 82, a resident of Union Street, formerly of Pratt Street and a lifelong resident Bennington, died peacefully Tuesday morning Aug. 7, 2007, at the Manes House in Bennington.

Hazel was born in Bennington on February 22, 1925, the daughter of Raymond E. and Mary (Monroe) Lever and attended Bennington schools.

Hazel worked as a wood stainer in various wood manufacturing companies and was a longtime member of the Green Mountain Christian Center. She enjoyed camping with her husband, going for rides, reading, crocheting and cherished times spent with her family.

Hazel is survived by three sons, Raymond Tobin of North Pownal, Larry Tobin of Ithaca, N.Y., and Ralph Tobin of Pownal; three daughters, Caroline Valentine of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Betty Ann Regan of Florida and Fay Pahl of Richlands, N.C.; her sister Esther Pinsonneault of Arizona; her brother Ken Lever of Mesa, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry O. Tobin who died Dec. 10, 2005; her son Henry Tobin; her sister Zane Tobin; and her brother Don Lever.

Graveside funeral services for Hazel will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m., Aug. 10, 2007, in the family lot in Grandview Cemetery in North Bennington. Pastor John Goyette of the Green Mountain Christian Center will conduct the service. There are no visiting hours.
