Obituary Condolences

EAST ARLINGTON -- A service to celebrate the life of Hector A. Ward was held at the Federated Church of East Arlington on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 12 with the Rev. Thomas Truscott pastor officiating.

Pastor Truscott reflected upon Mr. Ward’s being a “real Vermonter” who loved where he lived, his craftsmanship and his caring and kindness to his family and many friends as well as his devotion to the deaf community. The service opened with a special musical selection of “Old Rugged Cross,” the congregation joined in reciting the Lord’s Prayer and Psalm 23, and the recessional hymn was “Amazing Grace.” The service was interpreted for the deaf by Wendy Buck.

A time of fellowship and refreshment followed in the church’s Bailey Hall hosted by the ladies of the church. Mr. Ward, 69, a resident of Andrews Lane, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at the Albany Medical Center following an extended illness. Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home-Arlington Chapel.
