Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Hector J. Pinsonneault, 77, a former resident of Bennington, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, in Port Orange, Fla., following a long illness.

Born in Bennington on May 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Edward and Alice (LaFlamme) Pinsonneault. He received his education in the local schools.

Hector was a U. S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of 43rd Division, Vermont National Guard at the time of his activation.

For many years Hector was involved with his family in the operation of both the Vermonter Restaurant and the Vermont Steak House. He moved to Florida in the mid 1970’s.

Hector was a former member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and also a member of VFW Post 1332, both of Bennington.

He is survived by a son and daughter, Kevin and Pam, both of Arizona; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Pinsonneault of North Bennington and Peter Pinsonneault of Mesa, Ariz.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Pinsonneault was predeceased by a brother, Edward Pinsonneault Jr., who died in 2005.

At Mr. Pinsonneault’s request funeral services will be private.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
