In 2000 they where married at a ceremony at Cape Cod. They made their home in California where Heidi worked at the local community center as assistant manager. There she worked with pre-schoolers and senior citizens, taught arts and crafts and helped teach computer classes.

She also was the editor of their quarterly newspaper. Heidi was the proprietor of “Serendipity Creations by Heidi,” her arts and crafts which she sold through local stores.

A memorial service to celebrate Heidi’s life, which was attended by more than 200 mourners from across the states, was held at the local mortuary. A special selection of Heidi and Marty’s wedding music was played. Also the song “In the Arms of the Angels” was performed. A reception was held afterwards at the community center where all of the pre-schoolers formed a procession and laid flowers next to a picture of Heidi.

Heidi’s ashes will be scattered at some of her favorite places at a private ceremony.
