SHAFTSBURY -- Graveside services will be held on Monday for Helen E. (Hill) Pearson Larkin, of Davenport, Fla., formerly of Woburn and Wilmington, Mass. She passed away at the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport, Fla. on Dec. 1, 2003,

Born in Bennington on Nov. 19, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alton E. and the late Cynthia (Smith) Hill; and she was the beloved wife of the late Avery L. Larkin, who died in 1993. For many years, Mrs. Larkin worked as a school nurse in the Wilmington, Mass. public schools, and during that time participated in the 766 program for special needs students.

Helen and her late husband Avery moved to Florida more than 20 years ago. She became deeply involved in church activities in all of the communities that she resided in, including the First Baptist Church of Woburn, and most recently, the First Presbyterian Church of Haines City, Fla.

Helen gave of herself unstintingly, had a positive outlook, strong faith and always tried to see and nurture the best in people. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was predeceased by one sister, the late Kathleen Lauzon.

She is survived by one son, Arthur W. Pearson Jr.; two daughters, Pamela Pearson and Susan McMahon; and four step-daughters, Jerry White, Jayne Ober, June Barstow, and Joanne Carlotto. She is also survived by six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nine step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A committal service will be held at the Grandview Cemetery in Shaftsbury on Monday, June 7 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
