Helen R. Lindsey

1920 - 2013 BENNINGTON Helen Roseanne Lindsey, 92, a resident of South Street, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, following a long illness.

She was born in Pascoag, R.I., on July 30, 1920, and was the daughter of Louis and Amanda (Theroux) Aubuchon.

In earlier years, Mrs. Lindsey had been employed in various mills in the area and had also worked at Bennington College.

Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed knitting, handcrafts and travel, especially visiting family in Ohio. Her greatest love was being with and cooking for family. She was a kind-hearted and loving person who made friends wherever she would go.

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her two children, Gary Dickinson and his wife, Linda, of Bennington, and Sandra McDonough and her husband, Michael, of Bennington; two grandsons, Gary Dickinson, Jr. of Florida, and Scott Dickinson of Bennington, and two great-grandchildren; three step-children, Tim Lindsey of Alabama, Michael Lindsey of Arlington, and Tina Griffis of Milton; five step-grandchildren and four great step-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two husbands, James Greene and Robert Lindsey, and by a daughter, Gail Dickinson.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be private by her family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Chapter of the through the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Rose Lane at Emeritus at Fillmore Pond for the thoughtful compassionte care that was shown to Mrs. Lindsey and her family during her time there.
