Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- A mass of resurrection for Helen R. Maroney was held on Monday morning, April 19, 2004 at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington with the Rev. Vincent Coppola, csc, associate pastor, officiating. Altar servers included: Charles Gould, Valmore Clifford, Leonard Anzivino, and Fran Sausville.

The pall was placed on the casket by her daughter, Patricia Smith, and her family, including her husband, Allan Smith, and children, Missy Smith and Jacob Smith. A wooden cross was placed on the casket by Patricia.

The scriptures were read by Ann Harris and Jennifer Smith.

The eucharistic gifts were presented at the altar by Jennifer, Missy and Melisha Smith. Assisting Father Coppola as eucharistic minister was Jennifer Jepson. The eulogy was offered by Mary Jepson.

The hymns selected for the mass included: “Here I Am Lord,” “Be Not Afraid,” “Ave Maria” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” Soloist for the mass was Monica Murray accompanied by Donald McMahon at the organ.

Interment will take place privately in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.

Pallbearers for the services included her nephews; Ed Maroney, David Maroney, Brian Maroney, Gary Forrest, and John Maroney along with Andrew Myers.

Helen R. Maroney, 76, a resident of the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, died on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a long illness. Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral home in Bennington.
