Obituary Condolences

EAST ARLINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Rudd Bearden were held at the Federated Church of East Arlington on Saturday morning, April 24, with the Rev. Jordan Dickinson officiating.

Music for the service was provided by organist Douglas Bischoff who accompanied the congregational singing of “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden.”

Scripture readings were read by Patricia Keough and Tamara Pless. Personal reflections and memories were offered by Mrs. Bearden’s son, John Bearden. Burial with military honors followed in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Dickinson offering the committal prayers.

The American flag draping the casket of the World War II Army veteran was folded by Paul Woodard and Carroll Knight, the flag was presented to Mrs. Bearden’s son, John, by Mr. Woodard, The colors were presented by Sid Moss.

Mrs. Bearden had been a longtime member of American Legion Post 69.

The taps and echo were sounded by Maurice Rancourt. A reception for family and friends concluded the service at Bailey Hall, hosted by the Sunshine Committee. Serving as bearers were Edward Hawley, Mark Hawley, Patrick Hawley, Rick Hawley Jr. and Craig Keough.

Among the many friends and relatives attending the services and calling hours at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home were several members of the Bennington County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, of which Mrs. Bearden was past-regent. Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, Route 7A, Arlington.
