Helen M. Wiggin

1924 - 2015 BENNINGTON Helen M. Wiggin, 90, a longtime resident of Gypsy Lane died Saturday March 7, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was born in Bennington, Dec. 10, 1924. She was the daughter of the late William and Donalda (Bergeron) Boutin. Helen received her education in Bennington and was a 1942 graduate of Bennington High School She married Vincent S. Wiggin at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington. Mr. Wiggin died March 1, 1987. In earlier years Helen was employed as office manager at Fairdale Farms in Bennington. She later worked in the office Department at H. Greenberg and Son Building Supplies in Bennington from which she retired. For 20 years Helen was the auditor of the Bennington Rural Fire Department. Mrs. Wiggin's family, gardening and traveling were her main interest. She was a member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington and had volunteered at HIS Pantry at the church. Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Martin, and Rita Allard both of Bennington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins including nieces, Deborah Comer (Floyd) of Carleton, Mich., and Carol Hardaway of Bennington; a nephew Steve Martin (Leala) of Bennington; a great niece Christiann Comer of Carelton, Mich.; and a great-nephew, Timothy Comer of Canton, Mich.; one great-great-niece Kaitlyn Comer; and four great-great-nephews, Brayden, Zachary and Caleb Comer all of Canton, Mich., and Nicholas Bokuniewicz of Carleton, Mich. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Lorinna Abrams. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday March 10, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday March 9 from 5 - 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. The burial will take place in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery. If friends desire contributions in memory of Helen may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
