Obituary Condolences

POWNAL -- Funeral services for Mr. Henry Randall were held from Saint Peters Episcopal Church Monday afternoon where the burial office rite, with the Holy Eucharist, was concelebrated by the Rev. Paul Baker and the Rev. Penelope Hawkins.

The organist was Randall Krum. Serving as a crucifer was Emily Kennedy. Hymns offered during the service were “Alleluia! Sing to Jesus,” “Blessed City, Heavenly Salem,” “Be Thou My Vision” and “Alleluia! The Strife is O’er.” “Amazing Grace” was sung by Mr. Randall’s granddaughter, Giovanna Randall.

Words of remembrance were offered by Mr. Randall’s sons, Martyn and Paul Randall, and his daughter Megan Johnson.

The burial took place on the family property with the Rev. Baker and the Rev. Hawkins offering the committal prayers. One of Mr. Randall’s favorite poems, “Kubla Khan,” was read by his grandson Luke Barnes and Shakespeare’s Sonnet 63 was read by Megan Johnson. A reception followed at the family home.

Mr. Randall, a resident of Pownal, died July 28, 2004 at his residence. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
