Obituary Condolences

POULTNEY -- Herman E. Bourn, 80, of Poultney, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Haven Health Care Center in Rutland.

Mr. Bourn was born in Winhall on Aug. 25, 1925, the son of the late Dwight and Jennie (Douglas) Bourn. He served his country honorably in World War II in the United States Navy.

Mr. Bourn married his wife, Wyneta, in Peru on April 17, 1947. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a logger and truck driver in the Rutland and Manchester area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Bourn is survived by three sons, Roy Bourn and Philip Bourn of Rutland and Kenneth Bourn of Telogia, Fla.; four daughters, Louise Mondragon of Quincy, Fla., Penny Lamb of Wells, Jessica Beayon of Poultney and Jennifer Bourn of Florida; one sister, Effie Gilmore of Massachusetts; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Wyneta (Keyes) Bourn in 1983; one son, Robert Bourn; four brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home in Poultney.

A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home. The Rev. Ashley Meade, pastor of the Dresden Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Poultney Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home in Poultney.
