Hilda Hazelton

1928 - 2015 DORSET Hilda K. Hazelton, 86, a resident of Route 30, passed away Thursday March 19, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Hilda was born in Dorset on Oct. 12, 1928 the daughter of the late Robert G. and Beatrice (McWayne) Kinnie. She attended Dorset schools and graduated from Burr & Burton Seminary, class of 1946. Hilda worked as a Postal Clerk for the United States Post Office, and upon retirement owned and operated Hazelton Lawn Service. Hilda loved camping, especially traveling with her husband, every weekend in their motor home. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and was an avid deer hunter. She enjoyed attending tag sales, listening to country and bluegrass music, and cherished times spent with her family. Hilda is survived by her children, Stephen Hazelton and his wife, Joan, and Allen and his significant other, Sally, both of Dorset, and Marlene Harriman and her husband, Tom, of Manchester; grandchildren, Rebecca, Amanda, Danielle, Hannah, Nikki, and Holly; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leland Hazelton, whom she married May 15, 1947. Mr. Hazelton died December 23, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Joseph Kinnie, Gordon Kinnie, and Madeline Tobin. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside funeral services for Hilda will be held later in the spring in the family lot in Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset. Visiting hours will be held Monday evening March 23, from 5 - 7 p.m. at BREWSTER SHEA FUNERAL SERVICE 34 Park Place Manchester Center, Vermont.
