Hope Severance 1963 - 2008 MANCHESTER, VT Hope Ann Baird Severance, passed away at sunrise, on Dec. 28, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Bennington, Vt., on Dec. 2, 1963, daughter of Richard and Marion McIntyre Baird. She was a 1981 graduate of Burr and Burton Seminary. She married Eric Severance on March 10, 1995, in Manchester. Hope was a skilled bookkeeper and she worked for many area businesses over the years, both as an employee and as the owner of her own bookkeeping business; she worked last for Conix Systems, Inc., in Manchester. Hope's special talent was in practicing and teaching scrapbooking to her many friends at the scrapbooking business she ran in her home. Hope was especially known for her involvement with her community. She worked tirelessly for her children's schools and supported all of their athletic activities. Hope's infectious smile and personality made all who knew her want to spend time in her company. Hope leaves her husband, Eric and their three children, Justin, Emelie and Nathan. She also leaves her parents, Dick and Marion Baird and her siblings and their families; Rick Baird and his children, Pamela, Missy, Dawn, and Angela and their children; Bonnie Slade and her children and grandchildren, Tammy and Gordon King, Mariah and Allie, Eddie and Michelle Ouelette, Miranda and Joseph, Mark and Katie Slade and Nicholas; Ella Walsh, and her husband Dwain; Debbie and Pete Wyman, Gregory and Megan; Peter and Cindy Baird, Maya and Alan. Hope also leaves many, many relatives in the area. She was predeceased by her sister Frances. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Manchester. Burial will be in the spring in South Village Cemetery in East Dorset. Friends may call at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
