Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- A Mass of Christian death and burial was offered for Hubert “Huey” Grenon on Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, 2005, at the All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington with the Rev. Michael DeMasi, chaplain, officiating.

The pall was placed on the casket and then the wooden cross was placed on the casket by his sister, Helen Grenon. The scriptures were read by Mr. Alexander Mahar.

The gifts were brought to the altar by Helen. The soloist, Ms. Monica Murray, was accompanied by organist Mrs. Louise Gauthier. The selected hymns for the mass included, “Ave Maria,” “On Eagles’ Wings,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace” and “The Marine Hymn.”

A time of fellowship followed the Mass at the Crispe Multi-Purpose Room at the Veterans Home.

Interment services took place on Wednesday morning at the Gerald M. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y., where full military honors were offered by the National Cemetery Honor Guard.

Pallbearers for the services were staff of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Hubert “Huey” Grenon, 75, a resident of the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington and former long time resident of County Street died on Saturday, Oct. 15, following a long illness.

Services were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
