BENNINGTON -- Ida Alexandria LeBlanc, 86, a former resident of 6 Corey Lane in Bennington, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family Wednesday morning at the home of Bryan and Dale Seiferling. She was born in STE Henedine, Canada, Feb. 22, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Josephine (Roy) Bisson. Mrs. LeBlanc moved to the United States when she was 3 months old. She received her education at Saint Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls, N.Y.

On Jan. 14, 1939, Ida married Everett Paul LeBlanc in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. They celebrated 66 years of marriage. Mr. LeBlanc died Nov. 7, 2005.

A self employed entrepreneur, Mrs. LeBlanc, together with her husband, owned and operated both LeBlanc’s Auto Salvage and LeBlanc’s Copper Kettle Antiques for more than 50 years.

A very active member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church, Ida was a member of Saint Anne’s Society and the Holy Family Prayer Group. Ida enjoyed boating and was a member of the Southern Vermont Boating Club. She also enjoyed camping and going to tag sales. Ida’s family was very important to her. She especially cherished times spent with her family and grandchildren. She always enjoyed family gatherings.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Michaels Haines and her husband, Richard, of Bennington, and Doris LeBlanc and Michael Devens of Bennington; five grandchildren, the Rev. James Michaels and his wife Jody of Lancaster, N.H., Terry Purdy Shaw and her husband Joseph of Williamstown, W.V., David Michaels of North Bennington, Lynne Michaels Wilson and her husband, Jerry, of North Petersburgh, N.Y., and Thomas Purdy and his wife Laurie of Bennington; 17 great-grandchildren, Gary Wilson, Nicki Shearer, Kelly Harrington, Crystal Chase, Sean Michaels, Joshua Michaels, Bailey Michaels, Andrew Wilson, Daniel Shaw, Patrick Shaw, Tylor Purdy, Paul Shaw, Stephen Purdy, Ashley Ward, Michael Shaw, Jonathan Purdy and Alexandria Shaw; five great-great grandchildren Caleb Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Gabriel Harrington, Jazmyn Chase and Chloe Shearer; as well as extended family members Dale and Bryan Seiferling; a brother Wilford Bisson of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Leon Bisson, and three sisters, Leona Smith, Bea Brimmer and Merence Burke.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at 8:15 a.m. and the from Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church at 9 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered.

The burial will take place in the family lot in Saint John’s Cemetery in North Bennington.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, from 5 to 8 p.m.

All members of Saint Anne’s Society are requested to meet at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Friday at 6:30 p.m. for the recitation of the rosary.
