BENNINGTON -- Mrs. Imogene Ware Margiotta, 77, a resident of The Village at Fillmore Pond, died peacefully Tuesday evening, June 6, 2006, at her home.

Born in Albany, N.Y., on Sept. 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Addie (Hall) Ware. She was a graduate of Haverstraw High School and Berkley School in New York City.

Mrs. Margiotta worked as an office manager at Robert E. Yeager Health Center in Pomona, N.Y., and the Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Center in West Haverstraw. She and her husband, Anthony Margiotta, retired to Townshend in 1980 from Theills, N.Y. Mr. Margiotta died in November 1991. Mrs. Margiotta had resided in Bennington for the past four years.

She enjoyed playing bingo, was an avid reader and an animal lover.

She leaves her two sons, Thomas Margiotta of New City, N.Y., and Richard Margiotta of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Ann of Knoxville, Lindsey of Kingston, Tenn., and Thomas Jr. Margiotta of New City.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Townshend. There are no calling hours.

Should friends desire, memorial gifts in memory of Mrs. Margiotta may be made to the Windham County (Vt.) Humane Society in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
