NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Inez Maria (Benoni) Fierro, 78, of St. Joseph Court, Apt. B-5, 85 Eagle St., North Adams, Mass., died Friday evening, Oct. 15, 2004 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on Jan. 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Giuseppe Benoni and Maria (Rossi) Benoni.

She attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School where she graduated with the class of 1944.

She was employed at Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 35 years, retiring in 1988.

Mrs. Fiero was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, North Adams, and a member of the Sprague Electric Retiree’s Club and a member of the Jollee Circle Club of North Adams. She enjoyed walking and embroidery.

Her husband Anthony Peter Fiero, whom she married June 25, 1949 in St. Anthony of Padua Church, North Adams, died April 1, 1997.

Survivors include three daughters, Gail A. Cappuccio and her husband Anthony Capuccio of Merrimack, N.H., Nancy J. Niles and her husband Bruce Niles of Bennington, Vt., Susan M. Rocco of West Peabody, Mass., five grandchildren, Laura Cappuccio and Michael Cappuccio of Merrimack, N.H., Maria Fierro of Bennington, Vt., Ashley and Brandon Rocco of West Peabody, Mass., one brother, Anselmo Benoni of North Adams, Mass., two sisters, Rose Maselli of Adams, Mass., Martha Robare of North Adams, Mass., numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister Helen J. Benoni who died April 12, 1984.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 at 9:45 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 68 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass., with the Rev. Daniel J. O’Hear, Pastor, as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, Mass. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire, St. Anthony Church or Elder Services through the Flynn & Dganoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, Mass. 01247.
