Irene M. Haskell 1912-2010 BENNINGTON Mrs. Irene M. Haskell 97 , widow of Edward Haskell Sr. a resident of Division Street died Monday November 8, 2010 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Mrs. Haskell was born in Armagh, Quebec, Canada on November 20, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Denise (Thibault) Boutin. She relocated to Bennington at an early age with her family and attended local schools. She married Edward W. Haskell in Bennington in 1939, Mr. Haskell died in 1989. Mrs. Haskell had been employed at various local textile mills including the Cooper Needle Shop and Bradford Mill. She was a long time member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness' in Bennington, where she was presently the eldest member, she was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing and making jewelry. She leaves her son Edward W. Haskell Jr. of Shaftsbury, daughters Clare Haskell of Bennington, Helen Gibbons of East Islip, N.Y. and Janet Betit of Pownal, sister Antoinette Silver of Bennington, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, she was predeceased by several siblings. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be private with burial to take place in the Haskell family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Should friends desire memorial gifts in her memory may be made to either the Bennington Rescue Squad or Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness' in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
