COHOES, N.Y. -- Irene K. Kalinowski Dudek 77 of Forest Ave., Cohoes, N.Y., died Tuesday evening, May 20, 2003, at St. Mary’s Hospital Troy, embraced by her family.

Born in Hoosick Falls, where she was educated, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Tilley Pytko Kalinowski and wife of the late John S. Dudek Jr.

Irene was a dedicated homemaker and values loving her family.

She resided in Cohoes most of her life and was a communicant of St. Michaels Parish Cohoes, a member of the Rosary Society of St. Michaels and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Michaels Community Center.

Irene is survived by her beloved children: Kathy Twiss and her husband Edwin of Cohoes, son John Dudek and his wife Edie of Waterford; cherished granddaughters Erin Twiss and Rebecca Dudek; grandsons Matthew Dudek and his wife Sara, all of Cohoes, and Edwin Twiss Jr. of Albany; her sister Patricia Smith; brothers Anthony Kalinowski and Theodore Kalinowski of Hoosick Falls, Charles Kalinowski of Massapequa LI and Robert Kalinowski of Bennington, Vt.

She was predeceased by her son Edward, and sister Helen Bakaitis, and brother Edward Kalinowski.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Irene’s greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. She also enjoyed getting together with her friends at Bingo.

The funeral will be held from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home LTD 105 Vliet Blvd. Cohoes N.Y., Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be at St. Michaels Church in Cohoes 9 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday evening 4-8 p.m.
