BENNINGTON -- Ivah B. Hartnett, 77, passed away suddenly at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 25, 2004.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., Feb. 3, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ivah (Reynolds) Bootmann. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Hartnett of Bennington; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Lent of Las Vegas and Jean and John Scott of Petersburgh, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Marie Bootmann of Las Vegas; a sister-in-law, Olga Bootmann of Kittanning, Penn. She is predeceased by her brother, Donald Bootmann. She also leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Lenore J. and Fred Humphrey and Emily J. and Raymond Harrison, all of Petersburgh, N.Y.; her daughter, Audrey J. Giumarra of Bennington and her step-daughter, Gayle Hartnett Welch of Bennington; as well as eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ivah was a ray of sunshine to all and especially enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Her positive attitude and warm vibrant spirit were an inspiration to her beloved “girls” and grandchildren.

In keeping with her generous nature she chose to leave her body as an anatomical gift to Albany Medical College.

Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours and a private memorial service will be held at the family’s convenience.
