HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- James D. Ellsworth, 53, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. He lived on High Street in Hoosick Falls with his wife and soulmate of 26 years, Susan Y. (McGarth) Ellsworth.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1951 in Albany, son of the late Elmer and Norma (Hutchinson) Ellsworth. James was educated at schools in Albany. He was employed at Interface Solutions in Hoosick Falls. James was formerly employed at McKinney Steel in Albany. He was a member of the Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers Local 534, where he was also a shop steward. He also formerly owned Lexington Movers in Albany. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 2467 in Hoosick Falls. James loved to hunt and will be dearly missed by the “gang” at John’s.

Survivors other than his wife, Susan, include his beloved son, James D. Ellsworth Jr. and his wife Sandy of Phoenix, Ariz., who he loved more than life. He was a friend to everyone. He is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Lorretta Stanton.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
