Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- James Edward Palmer Sr., 44, a resident of Valentine Street in Bennington, died on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He was born in Bennington on April 4, 1961, and was the son of the late Arnold and Clara (Benhusky) Palmer. He received his education in Bennington and is a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

He was self-employed as a handy-man. He has worked at Park Lawn Cemetery previously. Jim enjoyed being an auto mechanic and tinkering with cars.

Jim is survived by his son James E. Palmer Jr. of Bennington; and two daughters, Ashley Palmer of Coco Beach, Fla., and Shaundra Caron of Bennington.

He leaves four sisters, JoAnn Rice of Bennington, Lois Langlois of Bennington, Snookie Harrington of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., and Linda Langlois of Bennington. He had two grandchildren, Austin and Taylor Palmer of Bennington, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Monday evening, Aug. 29, 2005 at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bennington, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 until the time of the service.

Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
