Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for James H. Pleasant were held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday, Nov. 7, 2003 with the Rev. Michael A. Demasi officiating.

Hymns offered during the funeral service were “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Bearers were nephews, Kenneth and Brian Stemp, Clayton and Jerry Jepson, Sam and Marshall “Butch” Salvi.

In attendance at the service were members of both VFW Post 1332 and Amerian Legion Post 13 in Bennington.

Burial took place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery with Father Demasi offering the committal prayers.

The flag that draped the casket of the World War II Air Force veteran was folded and presented to Mr. Pleasant’s son, James Pleasant, by Ralph Brown and Donald Tetreault of American Legion Post 13 in Bennington.

Taps were sounded by Maurice Rancourt.

Following the funeral service a reception was held at the home of Jay and Patricia Pleasant in North Bennington.

Mr. Pleasant, a resident of Safford Street, Bennington, died Nov. 3 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
