Obituary Condolences

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- James L. Blanchfield, 55, of South Union Street, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He was the husband of Anne Barber Blanchfield.

A life-long resident of Cambridge, Jim was born Tuesday, April 27, 1948, the son of Herman J. and Sara Agan Blanchfield. He was a graduate of Cambridge Central School, class of 1966. He earned an associate’s degree in accounting at St. Joseph’s College in Bennington. He and Anne were married in 1975.

Jim worked in the inventory control business for many years for various companies, including Goodyear Tire and Rgis Inventory Specialist. Regrettably, ill health forced him to retire early.

In his healthier days, Jim was an avid hunter. He always loved to follow the Cambridge Indians Football games. He enjoyed his animals who gave him much comfort and companionship.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Linda Blanchfield of Cambridge, and Herman and Karen Blanchfield or North Hoosick; his mother-in-law Blanch Barber of Hoosick Falls; three nephews; three nieces and two great-nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ackley & Ross Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge.

A funeral service, conducted by Dorothy Bunal of St. Patrick’s Church, will be held at 7 p.m.

It was Jim’s wishes to be cremated.

Memorial donations can be made to the Cambridge Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 52, Cambridge.

Jim will be remembered as a loving brother and a fun loving person.
