James Milton Obituary
Jim Milton recently passed away after a debilitating bout with leukemia. His soul is free of his cancer wrecked body and he is somewhere meandering through nature where he was happiest.

Jim came into my life about six years ago. He loved sardines, fried chicken and Fig Newtons. A member of the First Congregational Church, you would often find him cleaning out closets or helping with church gatherings. Jim volunteered kitchen duty at the Neighbor to Neighbor luncheons, frequently coming away with dishpan hands. Unable to drive because of poor eyesight, Jim walked all over town. He especially enjoyed the senior lunches and the friends he made there. Jim was a bright, well-read man who loved classical music; he said it gave him pleasure, inspiration and solace. He tolerated county music, but only because he was fond of his neighbors. His sister Elizabeth will miss him but she is happy he is at peace as is the many friends he made throughout his time in Vermont.

He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Gallagher in Florida and Jane Thomas in Alaska.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Manchester, VT on Friday November 3rd at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manchester Food Cupboard, P. O. Box 864, Manchester Center, VT 05255 or Neighbor to Neighbor, P. O. Box 266, Manchester Center, VT. 05255 in Jim's name.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 385 Bonnet Street, Manchester, VT.
