SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- James “Milt” Morahan Sr., 73, of Saratoga Springs, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness.

Milton was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and served in the Army during the 1950s. He received a bachelor’s degree in education from Hofstra Univesity and then completed a master’s degree from Adelphi. Milton was the beloved principal at both Skano and Arongen elementary schools in Clifton Park between 1974 and 1988. After he retired in New York, Milton worked at Woodford Elementary School in Woodford, Vt., for 10 years as an administrator/educator.

Milton’s passions were woodworking, painting and sports, and he will be missed by his loving family, which includes his wife, Margaret; a son, James Jr. and wife, Lisa, and a son, John, all of Saratoga Springs; also his daughter, Kathleen Morahan Lukin and husband, Peter Lukin, from Norfolk, Mass. Suvivors also include his sisters, Joyce Morahan Bacalla of Bay Shore, N.Y., and Kathleen Morahan Wilkinson and husband, Lee, from Malta, N.Y.

A memorial mass will be held for family on Long Island.
