1963 - 2016 BENNINGTON James B. Peirce, 52, a resident of Chapel Road died unexpectedly Monday February 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Bennington, VT June 27, 1963. He was the son of Daniel D. Peirce and his beloved late mother, Lucene (Shearer) Peirce. He received his education in Bennington and attended Mount Anthony Union High School. In earlier years Jim was employed at Marty Moore's Greenhouse in Bennington. Most notably though, Jimmy was, and still is known, as the Pizza Man in Bennington. He owned and operated, for almost 20 years, Gimme Pizza, first in North Bennington and then Bennington. He thoroughly enjoyed all of his customers and always was able to remember exactly how they liked their pizzas! Unfortunately he had to retire due to ill health. When not working, he enjoyed trips to the ocean, to Saratoga Gaming, para-sailing, hiking, riding four-wheelers and tending to his yard. He will be remembered for his large heart and trusting soul. He was person who loved life to the very end. Survivors include his partner, Lyle Aiken of Bennington, his father, Daniel D. Peirce of Bennington; a sister, Cynthia Thomayer and her husband, Skip of Bennington, a half-sister, Christine Mason of Bennington and a half-brother, Daniel M. Peirce and his wife, Debbie of Florida, MA. He also leaves behind a very special cousin, Marta Wilkinson of Hudson, NY and a special nephew, Michael Hamilton of Bennington along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and innumerous friends from around the world. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at 11a.m. The burial will take place in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday March 4, from 6 to 8p.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of James B.
