James R. Rogers 1954-2012 HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. James Raymond Rogers, "Jimmy" 57, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 8, 2012 after being stricken at work. He resided on High Street in Hoosick Falls. Born on December 3, 1954 in Bennington, Vt. Jimmy was the oldest son of Joan H. Rogers and the late Raymond G. Rogers. He was a 1972 graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls and certified hull technician in the United States Navy, stationed aboard the nuclear submarine, the USS Nimitz. Jim worked with his father in the family business, Rogers Roofing and Gutters, and took over the business after his father's passing. He was passionate about the Detroit Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys. Jimmy was a member of the Society of St. Stanislaw, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a past member of the Elks # 178 all in Hoosick Falls. Survivors include his mother Joan, children Joey and Nicole, six sisters and brothers, including Dodie (John) Vars, Terri (John) Burdick, Joni Rogers, Mickey (Stacy) Rogers, Rosemarie Rogers (Rick Stowell) and Faye (Gary) McCormick. Jimmy was adored by his several nieces and nephews, two great nieces, and a great nephew. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 12 noon from the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Thursday, January 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad, Karen McGovern Memorial Fund or St. Mary's Academy through the funeral home. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TIME OF THE FUNERAL HAS BEEN CHANGED.
