James T. Finley, III 1941-2010 READSBORO, VT James T. Finley, III, 69, a resident of Smith Road in Readsboro, passed away November 30, 2010 at his home. James was born in Hartford, Conn. on April 30, 1941 the son of the late James T. Finley, Jr. and Margaret Frances Merkle. James received his education in Hartford schools, graduating from Hartford, Connecticut Technical School. James worked as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Local 43 in Hartford for many years and loved to build furniture. He loved enduro motorcycle racing and won many awards for his talent. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, riding on his quad, snowmobiling and playing cards. James loved collecting antiques and going antiquing and was a member and instigator in The Old Geiser's Club. James is survived by his wife, the former Donna Tetro of Readsboro, who he married at St. Mary's Church in Simsbury, Connecticut on October 27, 1962, his daughter Paige Malloy of Dalton, Mass., his grandson, PVT Kevin Malloy of the United States Army, serving in Iraq, his sisters-in-law Bonnie Tetro of Lebanon, Conn., Sharon Cardinal and her husband William of South Newfane, Vt., Diane Groper of Tariffville, Conn., and Deborah Tetro and her partner Stephen Serafini of Torrington, Conn., his brother-in-law Robert Groper of Granby, Conn., his sisters Mary Helen Murphy of Portland Oregon, Carol Ann Daley of Bend, Oregon and June Taylor of Cromwell, Conn., and his nephews, Allan Bassell of Southington, Conn., Donald Bassell of Lebanon, Conn., Timothy Bassell of Plainville, Conn., Matthew Cardinal of Jewett City, Conn., and Damion Groper of White House, Texas. His son Robert passed away November 30, 2010. FUNERAL NOTICE: A mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Tuesday December 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim?s Catholic Church in Readsboro. Interment will follow in South Hill Cemetery in Readsboro. Visiting hours will be held Monday December 13, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Covey & Allen Funeral Home 44 East Main Street Wilmington, Vermont when the family is in attendance.
