Jane Bell graduated from Plymouth, N.H., High School, class of 1935, where she met her future husband, the late John S. Davison, attorney-at-law of Hoosick Falls. She graduated from Barnard College in New York City in 1939 and received a master’s degree in geology from Bryn Mawr College in 1940. Until May 1942, when she married John S. Davison, she worked in the geology department of Barnard College. During World War II, Mrs. Davison worked for the Allied Chemical Corp. in the war industry, while her husband was in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific.

For many years, Jane was also a volunteer remedial teacher at the Hoosick Falls Central School and a valued member of the Board of Trustees of Hudson Valley Community College.

When retired, Jane and her husband traveled and enjoyed fishing, golf and bridge on the gulf coast of Texas and Florida. After John’s death in 2000, she lived quietly and happily in her home on the North Hoosick Road with her granddaughter and the help of devoted car-takers. There she loved to read, watch birds and visit with friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Bell Davison, and her son-in-law, John Mors of The Netherlands; her granddaughterl Charlotte Bell of Hoosick Falls; and her grandchildren, William Sturtevant Verhoef, Marie Piper Mors and Simon Davison Mors, all of The Netherlands.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Suzanne Merle Davison; a brother, Andrew Lane Bell Jr., and grandson, Andrew Lane Mors.

Burial will take place in the Bell family lot in Everett, Mass.
