Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Jane G. Kennedy, 80, wife of Robert R. Kennedy Sr., a resident of Park Street, died peacefully at home on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, surrounded by her family.

Born in Bennington, Nov. 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Hogan) Gagne. She received her education in the Bennington schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy were married Feb. 2, 1945, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.

In earlier years, Mrs. Kennedy was employed at Frosts Pharmacy and Union Carbide Corporation. Her home and family were her main interest. She enjoyed quilting, writing poetry and was also a former Gray Lady volunteer at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Robert R. Kennedy Sr. of Bennington; five sons and daughters-in-law, Robert R. Kennedy Jr. and Alice of Cedar Grove, Texas, Paul D. and Lucille Kennedy, Christopher J. and Betsy Kennedy, Kenneth E. and Deb Kennedy, Patrick J. and Robin Kennedy and a daughter and son-in-law, Rebbecca Kennedy Richmond and Scott Richmond, all of Bennington; 15 grandchildren, Holly Martin, Heather M. Kennedy, Jeniffer K. White, Megan K. Kennedy, A.J. Kennedy, Adrianna Kennedy, Amanda K. Hemp, Erin M. Kennedy, Anissa L. Kennedy, Michael R. Kennedy, Garrett N. Kennedy, Ashley R. Kennedy, Jamie R. Kennedy, Cydney E. Richmond and Eyan A. Richmond; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Kennedy was predeceased by a great-grandson, Austin Kennedy, and by two sisters and a brother, Eileen Mossolini, Rosanne Brown and Gideon Gagne.

At Mrs. Kennedy’s request funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.

Friends are invited to pay respects to the family at a reception to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 2:30 p.m. at the Crispe multi-purpose room at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
