Jane P. Julian 1923 - 2009 BENNINGTON, VT Jane P. Julian, 85, widow of Julius James Julian, a former resident of North Pownal Road, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Rivers Edge Community Care Home in Bennington. Born in Springfield, Mass., Dec. 22, 1923, daughter of John and Margaret Nagle Power, she received her education at schools in Simsbury and East Granby. Mr. & Mrs. Julian were married in Tariffville on January 4, 1941. Mr. Julian died January 17, 1999. In earlier years Mrs. Julian was employed by Fafnir Bearing Co. in New Britain for 23 years. After moving to Vermont with her husband, she was employed at Southern Vermont Orchards for twelve years and then at United Counseling Service for two years until her retirement. She later was employed part time in the office of Lampman Realty in Pownal. Mrs. Julian was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in North Pownal and later at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Her interests included needlework, quilting, braiding rugs, and gardening. She leaves a daughter, Judith Johnson of Indiana, Penn.; grandchildren, Kurtis and Renie Johnson, Erik and C.J. Johnson and Heidi and Darryl Adams, and great-grandchildren, Julian Adams, Summer Adams, Erik Johnson Jr. and Andrew Johnson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Julian was predeceased by a son, James Julian, a son-in-law, Donald Johnson, and a sister and brother, Margaret Brazaitis and William Power. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 10:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered. Friends may call at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will take place in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain, CT, where committal services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in Jane P. Julian's memory may be made to the Bennington Free Library through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
