Jane Vogler

1928 - 2010 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Jane Vogler, 81, died on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. Jane was the wife of Charles "Ray" Vogler and a resident of the Hoosick Falls Health Center for several years. Jane and Ray were married on July 14, 1951.

Jane was born on Aug. 1, 1928, in Hoosick Falls, daughter of Daniel and Beatrice Hayes Dougherty. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School, class of 1945, and Troy Business School. Jane worked for Bill Andrick at his picture studio and was a legal secretary for the John Davison Law Office, both in Hoosick Falls. She later worked at the Hoosick Federal Credit Union for 33 years, where she was the office manager for 21 years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Hoosick Falls and loved to gamble, playing cards with her Thursday night card club, playing the horses, slot machines and lottery tickets.

Besides her husband, Ray, she leaves her daughter, Patty Post (Rodd) of Eagle Bridge; sons, Steven E. Vogler (Karen) of Grafton, and William Vogler (Suzanne) of Ledgewood, N.J.; also, four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Dougherty.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 5, at 9:15 a.m. from the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main St. in Hoosick Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hoosick Falls Health Center or the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
