Janet C. Tollisen 1939 - 2012 BENNINGTON, VT Janet Cross Wolfrum Tollisen, 72, a resident of White Creek, NY, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Born in Bennington, Oct. 23, 1939, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Anna (Cornell) Cross, Janet received her education in the Bennington schools. In her early years she was a cook at Prospect Nursing Home and at Putnam Memorial Hospital cafeteria. In summer you could always find her great bread and muffins at the Wolfrum Vegetable Stand in Eagle Bridge, NY. Her hobbies were crocheting, knitting and special crafts. Winters were spent in Punta Gorda, FL. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her two sons, Monty Wolfrum and his wife Louise (Kinney) of Eagle Bridge, NY, and Richard Wolfrum of Walloomsac, NY. She leaves five grandchildren, Crystal (Todd) Gates and Joseph Wolfrum of Eagle Bridge, Lisa Prebble of Hoosick Falls, NY and Laurie (Don) Finch and Richard Wolfrum of DeFuniak Springs, FL; seven great-grandchildren, Jordyn Gates, Aja, Joseph, Tanner and William Wolfrum, Kaley and Brianna Finch. Janet leaves four sisters, Mildred Pierce, Jo-Ann (William) Browe, Dale (Andy) Crawford of Bennington and Lillian (Kenneth) Eldred of Potter Hill, NY and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves a special companion, Charles Dunn. Janet was predeceased by her husband, William Wolfrum Jr. The family would like to express their great appreciation for the care that she received from Dr. Marcus Martinez and the staff at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at 10:15 a.m. with a prayer and from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington at 11:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Janet Tollisen's name may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
