Jean Blanchard Connell 1938 - 2009 SHAFTSBURY Jean Blanchard Connell, 70, widow of Robert J. Connell, a former resident of Grandview Street, Bennington, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Shaftsbury. Born in Bennington, Nov. 9, 1938, daughter of Dewey R. and Catherine Cushing Blanchard. She received her education in the Bennington schools and was a1958 graduate of Bennington High School. Jean and Bob were married in Bennington June 24, 1961. Bob died Dec. 21, 1996. For over 30 years Jean was employed at Tansitor Electronics, now Vishay Tansitor, until the time of her retirement. Jean enjoyed knitting and especially time spent with her family. She leaves her children and their spouses, Kimberly and Marc Volpe of Carlsbad, Calif., Dianne Connell of San Diego, Calif., Michelle and David Farrar of Shaftsbury and James and Candace Connell of Fort Worth, Texas; a twin sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Albert Krawczyk of Bennington; her grandchildren, Justin and Karter Volpe, Fritz, Kirk, Mark and Jon Herrmann, Kaitlyn and Nicholas Farrar, Tyson and Justice Connell; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Lynn Connell and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 8:15 a.m. with a prayer and from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington at 9 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Should friends desire contributions in Mrs. Jean Connell's memory may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
