1925 - 2012 SHAFTSBURY Jean Allyson Howe, 86, wife of James Allen Howe, a resident of Coulter Road, Shaftsbury, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Bennington Health & Rehab.
Born in Eagle Bridge, New York on October 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Martha (Eddy) Charlestream. Jean and Jim were married on January 12, 1947 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bennington.
In earlier years, Jean had been employed at Hoy Manufacturing and the Prospect Nursing Home. She later provided elder care to several families in the Bennington, Cambridge and Shushan areas.
Survivors, besides her husband include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Gail Howe, a grandson, Adam Howe and his wife Ashley, all of Shaftsbury; a sister, Lois Holton of Bennington and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Morehouse, a sister, Alyce Hoffmeister and a brother, Norman Charlestream.
MEMORIAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Jean Howe will be held from the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Houghton Lane on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 6:00 P.M.
