Obituary Condolences

DANBURY, Conn. -- Jeanette Crary Fortuno died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 at Filosa Convalescent Home. Mrs. Fortuno was born in New York City, Dec. 5, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Louie and William Crary. She was predeceased by her husband, James Winchell Fortuno, formerly of Bennington, Vt.

She graduated from New York University in 1938 with a degree in speech and theater and was a member of the Washington Square Players.

She taught first grade for many hears in Deer Park, Long Island, and enjoyed a fulfilling retirement in Vermont.

She is survived by three daughters, Amy Huntley of Danbury, Alice Hooper of Rochester, N.Y., Elizabeth Gray of Essex Junction, Vt.; one son, James Fortuno of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Leonore Hauck of Chatham, N.J.; nine grandchildren.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Filosa Recreation Fund, Filosa Convalescent Home, 13 Hakim St., Danbury, CT 06810.

Funeral services and burial in Vermont will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
