POWNAL -- Mrs. Jeannette E. Campbell, 80, wife of Earl W. Campbell, a resident of Niles School Road, died Sunday, March 28, 2004 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Willimansett, Mass. Feb. 22, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Nora (Chenaille) Snow. She received her education in the Pownal and Williamstown, Mass. schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Campbell were married June 6, 1942 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in North Pownal.

Mrs. Campbell was a cook at the Peaceful Valley Restaurant and the Heritage House for many years. In her later years, she and her husband worked for the Meals On Wheels program. They were also members of the Catamount Gadabouts square dance club for many years.

She will long be remembered for her tireless devotion to both her family and her church.

She was a wonderful mother to her 10 children and their spouses. They are Craig E. Campbell of Salisbury, N.C., Gail E. LaBonte, Nola and John Evans, Curtis and Mary Campbell, Susan D. Campbell, JoAnita M. and Stanley Wilkinson, Colleen A. and David Dence and Jason A. Campbell, all of Pownal and Gloria Weaver, a daughter-in-law of Wells. She was predeceased by two sons, Ronald W. Campbell and Kenneth E. Campbell. In addition to her husband Earl, she is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Lynn Bushee, Cary, Bruce and Brian LaBonte, Tammy Dumas, Myles and Ericca Campbell, James and Christopher Evans, Stacey and Ronald Campbell, Laurie Pudvar, Becky Wilkinson, David And Robert Dence; and 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Allen of Bennington and Anita Rowland of Jackson, N.Y. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Campbell was also predeceased by two brothers, Bernard and Albert Snow.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at 10:15 a.m. with a prayer, and from Our Lady of Lourdes Church in North Pownal at 11 a.m. where the liturgy of Christian death and burial will be offered.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pownal.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Jeannette Campbell’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
