Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Jeannette P. Hurley, 79, a resident of Benmont Avenue, died Thursday evening, June 21, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jeannette was born in Shaftsbury on Dec. 25, 1927, the daughter of Albert and Florence (Whitman) Perkins. She attended local schools. Jeannette worked at General Cable in Pownal for many years and was a member of the American Legion Post 90 Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Pownal Swinging Seniors and the Bennington Horseshoe Club. Jeannette enjoyed crocheting and cherished time spent with her family, especially attending family functions and gatherings.

Jeannette is survived by four sons, John George and his wife Deborah, David George and his wife Brenda, Ken George and his wife Kelly and Mike George and his wife Laura, all of Pownal; two daughters, Patty Morgan and her husband Dave of Bennington and Linda Johnson and her husband Ron of Portland, Me.; her brother Charles Perkins of Lunenburg, Mass.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jeannette will be held Monday, June 25, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington. Interment will follow in Morgan Cemetery in Pownal. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2007, from 2 to 5 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
